Our practice participates in various studies to further findings in podiatric research. If you would like to take part in any of the below studies, please contact our office today!
Non-Surgical Treatment of Bunions
Do you have painful bunions, but don’t have time for or don’t want to have surgery?
We are looking for people with bunions to participate in a clinical research study called “Dystance.” This study will look at the safety and effectiveness of a study medication taken by adults with bunion pain. If you are 18 or older and have bunions, but haven’t had surgery, you may qualify! Participants receive study-related care at no cost and reimbursement for their time.
Plantar Fasciitis Study
For this study, we are looking for patients who have plantar fasciitis in one foot. As you may know, plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of chronic heel pain in adults. The condition is triggered by inflammation of the plantar fascia, which is the thick ligament that connects the heel bone to the front of the foot. Plantar fasciitis is typically characterized by an intense stabbing pain in the bottom of the foot and/or heel that is most prevalent in the first few steps after waking.
This study is for patients who are willing to consider an injection to relieve their symptoms.
If you would like to learn more about the study, we will go through a few questions to see if you qualify. If you qualify, you will be seen by the study doctor. You will then follow up with the study doctor 4 times after the study injection procedure, over a 1-year period.
Please call (210) 480-6501 for our pre-screening process to see if you qualify for our research studies.
